Amanda Yik

Founder, Shinrin Yoku Hong Kong

Amanda Yik grew up in Hong Kong and have loved spending time in the Hong Kong outdoors where she has found solace, exhilaration, healing and a sense of home.

She is the founder of Shinrin Yoku Hong Kong, an award-winning Certified Nature and Forest Therapy Guide in Hong Kong, the first Asia-based Trainer with the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy Guides and Programs, as well as an ICF Certified Professional Coach for Transformation, and a trained facilitator of the Work that Reconnects.

Inspired by her own journey of personal transformation, Amanda’s work embraces practices that honour the wisdom of the body, the heart and the more-than-human world, and supports people to return to a sense of wholeness and belonging.

Since 2017, she has facilitated more than 500 sessions for the corporate sector, NGOs and educational institutions in Hong Kong, and has co-trained over 150 certified forest therapy guides from the Asia-Pacific, Europe and North America.

Amanda is frequently cited in local and international media as a pioneer, advocate and leader in nature therapy.

Organisation Description

Shinrin Yoku Hong Kong has been promoting forest therapy in Hong Kong since 2017. A pioneer in introducing and promoting forest therapy locally, it has successfully elevated forest therapy to a widely recognized modality of holistic well-being, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, making it an important tool for supporting public mental health.

In addition to regularly holding public events, it frequently collaborates with private enterprises, NGOs, universities, and other professional organizations. To date, it has led over 500 forest therapy experiences, nature-connecting activities, lectures, and workshops in Hong Kong and overseas. It also designs and arranges training for various organizations, equipping staff with the knowledge to apply the spirit and practice of forest therapy in the work of helping professionals.
